THE PURPOSE OF RUTH & NAOMI'S MISSION To provide a place to relax where there is the opportunity for refreshments in an atmosphere that is centered around Christ. To accept those that are often rejected by society. To provide an atmosphere of safety, and peace for those who lack these elements in their lives. To play games and socialize in a Christian setting. To share the gospel of Jesus Christ with inner-city people through the building of friendships, trust, and honesty. To make connections between the street culture and Church culture. To offer the opportunity to cross over from a lifestyle destined to eternal death, to a lifestyle destined to eternal life in and through Christ.

OUR VISION

The Vision of Ruth & Naomi's Mission is to serve and share the gospel to establish a connection between the church and street culture. A place where everyone is welcome, a place of refuge and relationship in an atmosphere of Christian character. A place where volunteers come from various churches to help serve and meet the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of the local community.

STATEMENT OF FAITH

• We believe that God created heaven and earth and all creatures there in.
• That God is the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
• That Jesus Christ died the death of the cross, rose again, and is now at the right hand of the Father.
• That He shall come again to judge the living and the dead.
• We believe in the resurrection
• We believe in the worldwide Christian Church, called out of the human race to eternal life by the Holy Spirit, and that His church is to live as pilgrims on this earth.
• We believe that humankind is saved by grace from eternal death through faith alone in Jesus Christ.
• We believe the Bible alone is sufficient for knowing God, how to serve Him, and how to live and die in Christ.

OUR EXPECTATIONS

• Our expectations are rooted in the Word and Spirit of God, working in the Chilliwack region to support the work of Ruth & Naomi's Street Ministry.
• Our expectations are that we will receive the support of Christians through prayer, volunteers, and finances.
• In God's power working through this support network Ruth & Naomi's Street Ministry expects dramatic and awesome results.
• To see changes in the lives of the inner-city people, and amongst those who've been sent out on a common mission. To share the gospel and help those God has placed in our midst.

ABOUT OUR DIRECTORS OF STREET MINISTRY

Ted & Ann Stoker have been involved in street ministry for the past eleven years, and have been the Directors of Ruth & Naomi's Mission since its beginnings.

 

Ted & Ann both come from a strong Christian background, and are members of the 1st Christian Reformed Church of Chilliwack. Ted & Ann have a real gift and love to do God's work amongst those that are having a difficult time in their life, or have not accepted Christ as their Saviour.

 

Ted & Ann have four children and seven grandchildren. They have lived in the Lower Mainland for the past twenty four years and in Chilliwack for the past fourteen years. They have made a lot of friends amongst those that come into the mission, as they continue to minister with God's love and affection to everyone that comes in.

 

May God continue to keep them in the hollow of his hands as they continue doing His work here in the community of Chilliwack.
